To serve God* and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.
* individuals are encouraged to substitute a word that accurately represents their beliefs.

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place,
and be a sister to every Girl Scout.

General Information for Girls

Troops, Groups, Juliettes: The Girl Scouts of Northern California offers several different ways for girls to participate in Girl Scouts. The majority of our members are part of a troop or group, led by two or more volunteer leaders. Juliette Girl Scouts is a program for girls that focuses on serving and supporting girls outside the troop setting. It was created by the Girl Scouts of Northern California to help reach the GSUSA goal of serving, "Every Girl, Everywhere." More new and exciting programs and events are being planned that will be available to all Girl Scouts in Konocti Council. For more information about Juliettes, go to: Juliettes

Costs to members: Annual registration is $10.00 and is forwarded to the national organization, GSUSA (Girl Scouts of the USA). Troops may collect dues at meetings with the amount determined by the troop. Girls can earn additional money through council-sponsored Fall Product and Girl Scout Cookie Sales to support their activities and the Girl Scout program. Financial assistance is available for first year registration, a uniform sash, camp, trips, and other activities.

Uniforms and Handbooks: Uniforms are not required. Wearing a Girl Scout membership pin is considered being in uniform. A variety of optional uniform and casual Girl Scout attire is available. Girls in troops may decide to wear a sash or vest, on which they can display badges, try-its and patches they have earned.

Parents and Grandparents are invited to help with their child’s Girl Scout troop. They may come to a meeting once in awhile or all the time. Some of the ways adults can help is by:

  • Leading the troop
  • Making phone calls
  • Driving on field trips
  • Helping at meetings
  • Planning activities
  • Helping with troop Girl Scout Cookie and Fall Product Sale Programs

Program Levels:

Daisy Girl Scouts (Kindergarten-Gr. 1 or ages 5-6) Daisy Girl Scouts learn by doing. In a warm, nurturing atmosphere, a Daisy Girl Scout will develop a positive self-image and gain knowledge of the world around her.

Brownie Girl Scouts (Gr. 1-3 or ages 6-8) Brownie Girl Scout activities give girls the opportunity to experiment, create, challenge, and grow. These experiences will foster the ability to build friendships, positive relationships and a respect for others.

Junior Girl Scouts (Gr. 3-6 or ages 8-11) The Junior Girl Scout program helps girls maintain and strengthen their self-esteem and empowers them to act upon their values and convictions. This is the age level when girls start to make more of the decisions and practice girl planning.

Studio 2B Girl Scouts (Ages 11-17) Pre-teen and teen Girl Scouts come together as a group and decide what they would like to do and then make the plans to do it. This involves practicing decision making, leadership, and communication skills and of course having fun. Some of the things girls decide to participate in include: high adventure, sports, travel, planning program for younger girls, working toward the Silver and Gold Awards, or just hangin’ out together. It’s all up to the girls at this age.
